Management
Ensure future success of TEMPO
  • Expand strategic plan by establishing committee descriptions and committee goals
  • Encourage a two year tenure for all Board positions to ensure consistency and experience on the TEMPO Board
  • Work with Membership and Public Relations to maintain/increase membership
Improve communication with and between Board members
  • Meet regularly to ensure coordination and integration
  • Publish Board meeting agenda one week prior to Board meeting
  • Empower all committees by establishing budget guidelines for both income and expenses
Improve communication with membership
  • Communicate by posting committee goals and descriptions on web site
Philanthropy
Identify Philanthropy recipients
  • Ensure that the application process is effective
  • Review current application process annually
Raise the money donated to charity  þ Explore innovative ways to raise money
  • Brainstorm
Encourage the use of computers in non-profit organizations

Web-site
Provide up-to-date information on TEMPO's programs and activities
  • Ensure that the program and newsletter information is kept up to date and current as this information becomes available
  • Work with Board to determine new areas or areas to enhance on the web site
Use web site as a marketing tool to attract potential members
  • Add new pages as needed and update information on job postings, vendors, and resources as required
  • Promote the web site at every meeting and in every newsletter
  • Make sure web site is on all printed documents from TEMPO
Budget for web site costs and enhancements
  • Contract with consultant for major changes or new page design
Membership
Increase membership 10% each year
  • Develop proactive approach to recruiting new members
  • Work with Publicity
Maintain a valid prospect list þ Follow up with each prospect - encourage membership or remove from list
Retain current members þ Ensure that members' needs are met
  • Continue strong program schedule
  • Survey membership
Programs
Provide innovative and beneficial programs
  • Continually look for topics of interest and poll membership for their suggestions. 
Maintain a 6 month advanced program schedule þ Planning should be done so that program schedule is complete by July membership mailing
Increase attendance at TEMPO programs
  • Inform the community-at-large
  • Work with Publicity to ensure notice of meetings is done proactively
Treasury
Identify current financial status
  • Ensure current process is efficient
  • Proactively identify any financial issues
  • Review current financial process
Establish monthly financial report
  • Maintain financial books by using a software system that will balance, maintain, and report on our financial status
  • Research current systems and rely on recommendation
Develop process to create budget
  • Develop knowledge of budget and be able to report against that budget 
  • Work with various committees
Database
Maintain an accurate, up-to-date member and prospect database 
  • Process membership and prospect information immediately
  • Provide informational reports at quarterly Board meetings
Prepare membership renewals and membership directory
  • Respect dates set for publishing renewal documents and directories
Secretary
Prepare concise meeting minutes
  • Ensure that Board meeting minutes are distributed within a reasonable time frame after meeting
Prepare enticing committee descriptions on the TEMPO web site

 

Public Relations
Develop a realistic informational exchange system with other TEMPO committees
  • Focus on Membership, Programs, and Philanthropy
 
Participate in the dissemination of information from committees to general TEMPO membership.
Cultivate a relationship with targeted media outlets to 
  • Insure coverage of TEMPO activities (before and after) 
Expand awareness of TEMPO as an organization through the media 
  • Stimulate interest from outside to increase membership
Assist in the retention of TEMPO members 
  • Make the members feel that they are contributing to the organization, and their thoughts and opinions are welcome
Publicize promotions developed by the TEMPO Board 
  • Attract attention to TEMPO by appealing to non-members-trainers, educators, consultants, and vendors from both technology-related and non-technology industries
Newsletter
Publish an eye-catching quarterly newsletter 
  • Include informative articles about TEMPO
  • Include articles and information pertinent to training
Explore ways to fund the printing of the newsletter 
  • Use color in the newsletter
  • Print on 11X17 paper
Explore alternatives for soliciting articles
